In The Beginning Jim Parsons was all about The Big Bang Theory...but then Broadway beckoned and he's become the ultimate proponent of Creationism! Tickets are now available to see the Emmy winner play God (the Almighty) in An Act of God on the Great White Way. Directed by Joe Mantello, the stage adaptation of The Last Testament: A Memoir By God, will begin performances on May 5 at that most holy of places, Studio 54. Opening night is set for May 28.
The Creator Himself has written the Play, which has been transcribed by Emmy-winning The Daily Show head writer and executive producer David Javerbaum. God (through His press agent) has billed the show as such: “A 90-minute conversation in which I will reveal the mysteries of the Bible and answer some of the greatest existential questions that plague mankind.” In an early statement, He said, “This Play will help clear up the fallacy that I’m old fashioned…and instead reveal the true Me: up-to-date and holier-than-you.”
Casting of two angels, the design team and the end date of the limited engagement will be announced shortly. Although the show is playing at Roundabout's Studio 54, it is not a Roundabout production. This is the Word of the Lord.
